In writing, as in anything worth doing, it's important that we know why we're doing it.
I write, so no one feels abandoned. Going a little deeper, I write about the struggles of living, never wanting to minimize, but to give a powerful voice to it.
Deciding and naming why you write, gives you a roadmap, direction and purpose.
Writing reasons:
To be relevant
To be excellent
To address temptation
To encourage
To teach
To remind
To share wisdom
To bless
To answer a calling
Why do you write?
I write to answer a calling that came when I was just 7 years old. Took me a while to get to the task at hand since I'm now 45. I still believe my 'start" was perfect timing, some 38 years later. In answering that call I also hope to bless my readers.

Hmmm...good question. I write (when not in a Bible study blog mindset) to process things that I might be feeling, and to bless/encourage. I write so that others won't feel alone and so I won't, either.

I remember "meeting" you a few years ago, I feel like we have much in common. I was called when I was about 7 and then waited until I was 36 to do anything about it. God's perfect timing though! You are a blessing to your readers.

I'm so impressed with your writing Gretchen! You are blessing to others with your writing, and you do just that; make others feel that they aren't alone.

Love this post, Audra!
I write:
to share God with others
to help others the way I've been helped
to give someone else a giggle just when they need it
to show others that you can be a Christian and not live a boring life ;)
because it's what God has given me to do!
